Alley Twenty Six General Manager

Alley Twenty Six is actively seeking a passionate and creative hospitality professional with at least 2+ years of management experience to join our team as General Manager of our establishment in Durham, N.C. 

Opened in 2012 in the heart of downtown Durham, N.C. Alley Twenty Six crafts seasonally-based cocktails with a passion for honoring the art of the classic cocktail and a commitment to using locally sourced ingredients, redefining what it means to drink in your local watering hole.  In 2017, Alley Twenty Six doubled its size expanding into the space next door with a full kitchen and dining room serving upscale food items to complement the weekly rotating cocktail selections using seasonal ingredients. In March 2022, Alley Twenty Six was named a finalist for Outstanding Bar Program, a national category in the James Beard Foundation’s annual restaurant and chef awards.

For the role of General Manager, the ideal candidate:

• Must have the soft skills to inspire loyalty, curiosity, and hard work from their team.
• Hold self to the same level of standards that you request from your team everyday.
• Must be capable, trustworth, have integrity and have experience with anticipating and experience solving problems.
• Continues to be a student of the Alley Twenty Six brand and the industry by seeking out opportunities to learn more and improve.

Qualifications:

• At least two+ years of management experience in fine dining or casual fine dining.
• Possess a strong working knowledge of cocktails, food, wine, beer and willingness and ability to share knowledge with staff and guests.
• Maintain a well groomed appearance and adhere to the standards of company uniform requirements.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work on feet for ten hours a shift.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds overhead onto high shelves. 
• Has a valid driver’s license and owns a vehicle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Adept with all restaurant technology (POS, labor management, etc.)
• Ability to read a Profit and Loss statement and make adjustments as needed.
